Managed Redis Service on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure
A managed Redis-compatible database on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. Replicas with failover, backups, private networking, billed by the hour: from $14.52 a month, and $393 for 25 GB with a replica.
KiviDB Cloud runs a Redis-compatible database for you on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure: replicated, backed up, monitored and upgraded. Your Redis client and commands work unchanged, and it costs less than the managed Redis services at every size we compared.

Everything a managed database should come with
- Three clouds, or your own account AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, in the region you pick, or inside a cloud account you own (bring your own cloud).
- Replicas and failover On Pro, a replica in another zone takes over when the primary is lost, and the hostname does not change. 99.95% committed availability; 99.5% on single-node Essentials.
- Backed up An append-only log on paid plans, snapshots on demand or on a schedule, restores into a new database, and exports into your own bucket.
- Private and encrypted A firewall closed by default, private connectivity on all three clouds, TLS, client certificates and encrypted replication.
- Watched Metrics, logs and alerts in the console, a Prometheus endpoint per database, and a weekly maintenance window you choose.
- Billed by the hour Prepaid credit, charged for the hours a database runs. No annual commitment, and the price of any size is on the pricing page before you create it.

Questions
What is the cheapest managed Redis for production?
For a replicated database of 5 GB or more, KiviDB Cloud cost the least of the services we priced: $95.54 a month for 5 GB and $393 for 25 GB with a replica on AWS, against $480 for ElastiCache, $562 for Memorystore and $1,708 for Redis Cloud Pro at 25 GB. For a cache under 1 GB, serverless and free tiers elsewhere can cost less.
Is KiviDB Cloud really Redis?
KiviDB is its own engine, written in Rust, that implements the Redis protocol (RESP2 and RESP3) and the Redis command set. Existing Redis clients connect unchanged. It does not load Redis modules or run Sentinel; the compatibility page lists every difference.
Which clouds and regions does it run in?
AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, in the regions listed on the pricing page, or inside your own cloud account with bring your own cloud.
Is there a free tier?
Yes: a 100 MB database on a shared instance, free for seven days, with no card. Paid databases start at 1 GB.
How is it billed?
By the hour, from prepaid credit. There is no annual commitment, and the price of any configuration is shown before you create it.
