Managed In-Memory Cache Service
A managed, Redis-compatible in-memory cache on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. Sub-millisecond reads, expiry and eviction, replicas with failover, from $14.52 a month, billed by the hour.
Put KiviDB in front of your database or API and serve repeated reads from memory. It speaks the Redis protocol, so the caching library you use already works, and KiviDB Cloud keeps it running, patched and backed up on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
Faster pages, a quieter database
- Reads from memory A hit is answered from RAM in well under a millisecond, and the query never reaches your database.
- Expiry and eviction Set a time to live per key, and choose what goes when memory is full: least recently used, least frequently used, or nothing.
- Every core serves hits KiviDB answers on every core of its machine, so one cache node takes more traffic before you need a cluster.
- Nothing to run No servers to patch, no failover to script. Replicas take over on their own on the Pro plan.

Prices are live quotes from the rate card, at standard throughput. Google Cloud and Azure are priced on the pricing page. The free tier is a 100 MB shared sandbox with a seven-day lifetime budget, one per owner.
A replicated cache, priced
The same dataset, replicated across two zones, on each service's cheapest configuration that holds it.
| Dataset, with a replica | KiviDB Cloud | Redis Cloud | Amazon ElastiCache | Memorystore | Dragonfly Cloud |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 GB | $95.54 | $258 | $174 | $180 | $143 |

Monthly, 730 hours, a primary and one replica in another zone, US regions. KiviDB Cloud: Pro on AWS from the live rate card. Others: each service's cheapest published configuration that holds the dataset, from its list price as read on October 5, 2026; the exact configurations are listed under "How we compared" on the home page.
What people cache with it
- Cache-aside: Read from the cache, fall back to the database, write the answer back with an expiry.
- Sessions: Session data every application server can read, with a sliding expiry.
- Rate limits: One counter per key and window, shared by every instance of your API.
- LLM responses: Serve an answer again for a question that means the same thing.
Questions
What is a managed cache?
An in-memory key-value store that a provider runs for you: it creates the servers, keeps a replica ready, backs it up and applies upgrades, and you connect to a hostname. KiviDB Cloud is one, compatible with Redis and Valkey clients.
How much does a managed cache cost?
On KiviDB Cloud, a 1 GB single-node cache is $14.52 a month on AWS, and a 5 GB cache with a replica in another zone is $95.54. The pricing page quotes any size on AWS, Google Cloud or Azure.
Can I use it with Memcached clients?
No. KiviDB speaks the Redis protocol. Most languages have a Redis client, and most caching libraries support Redis as a backend.
