Self-hosted KiviDB

Nothing to load from a file: the copy program, or the application warming the cache, writes straight into the running server. Start KiviDB with a memory limit and an LRU policy if you want Memcached's behaviour when memory is full:

kividb --port 6380 --requirepass "$KIVIDB_PASSWORD" --maxmemory 4gb --maxmemory-policy allkeys-lru

Persistence is off unless you turn it on. For a cache you may not want it.

KiviDB Cloud

Create the database, add the machine that runs the copy to the allow-list, and run the copy program against the database's endpoint. With TLS, use a rediss:// URL and the CA certificate from Configuration:

kv = redis.Redis(
    host="your-name.cloud.kividb.io",
    port=6380,
    password=os.environ["KIVIDB_PASSWORD"],
    ssl=True,
    ssl_ca_certs="kividb-ca.pem",
)

Replace the redis.Redis.from_url(url) line in the program with this if you connect with TLS. There is no file to import: Memcached has no snapshot format.
