Load into KiviDB: migrate from Dragonfly to KiviDB

For a copy tool, start KiviDB empty and point RedisShake or RIOT at it.

Self-hosted KiviDB

# The RDB file in the data directory, read at startup when there is no dump.kdb
cp migrate.rdb /var/lib/kividb/dump.rdb
kividb --dir /var/lib/kividb

# Or named
kividb --dir /var/lib/kividb --preload-file rdb:/backups/migrate.rdb

For a copy tool, start KiviDB empty and point RedisShake or RIOT at it.

Don't carry Dragonfly's flags across: KiviDB's config file is read strictly. Set --maxmemory, --maxmemory-policy, --requirepass (or --aclfile) and --aof yourself.

KiviDB Cloud

Create the database first, with Lua on if the application runs scripts. Then:

  • upload the RDB file under Snapshots → Import a snapshot and create the database from it, or restore it into an existing one. If Dragonfly wrote it to S3, seed a new database from a presigned URL instead (aws s3 presign s3://my-backups/dragonfly/migrate.rdb); or
  • run RedisShake scan_reader or RIOT against the database: your-name.cloud.kividb.io:6380, user kividbapp, TLS on. See Loading into KiviDB Cloud for the writer settings.
